The Kriegspiele Project for James S.

This project began with a request for blocks and the e-mailing of a pdf.  Using the pdf we experimented with the creation of some blocks.  Once we figured out how to do it, we then went back and forth till we had what James wanted.  Attached are some of the pictures and images of that process.

Here is a closer image of the first trial.  I am working on a more distinct piece.  I think the images below are better.  I should have examples of those this weekend.

These pieces are created using HDF wood and sublimating the image into the wood.  The HDF wood has a coating that, when heated with an image, becomes part of the wood.  I use the laser to cut the shapes, and then use a
high res image in the sublimation process.  I did not use the laser to cut the above image out.  I used a band saw.  Part of the R&D process.

This was a first attempt at the design.  As you can see it needed a little help.  The blue does not really work well on the red section.  James asked if we could exchange the major and minor identifiers on the symbols.  The final image will show this.

This is the final grouping.  This the infantry, cavalry and artillery.  These are all James wanted for now.  We are going to do all the images on the standard sheet.  I have some kinks to work out for the single troop counters, but the wagons and the horse or foot artillery is easy to work out.

Here is a close up of the latest edition.  These markers all meet the size requirements from the web site.  The cavelry is 1 cm sq., the infantry is 1.25 cm x .75 cm, and the artillery is 1 cm x .75 cm.
